I have worked at Academy Publishing for 3 and a half years in the Administration Department.

I started off as an Office Junior on the reception desk and I am now a Credit Controller for the A-Mark Publishing accounts.

I am also the manager of Canidae and Felidae, which is our petfood distribution company that produces the highest quality, all natural pet foods using the finest ingredients.

Hi I’m Tayla Brown and I’m new to the Academy Administration team. I started in July 2011 and was welcomed with open arms.

I work on reception with Kimberley doing a bit of everything for all companies in the Academy Group. I love being a part of the team as the people and the work are awesome!

In my spare time I love doing everything - trying anything new I am all for.

Judy Slater

Administration

I started at Academy in July 2010 as a sales consultant.  In October 2010 I had the opportunity to become part of the administration team in a part time role in credit control. This became a full time role in April this year and I thoroughly enjoy the challenges it brings and working with a great bunch of people.

Prior to my Academy life I worked in the production department in an administrative role for Buy Sell, Exchange and my husband and I owned our own business for 9 years so I was well prepared for the busy environment that Academy is.

When I’m not at work I like spending time with family and friends and in the outdoors.

Lyn Wright

Administration

My role at Academy is credit controller for with the Administration Department. I have been back at Academy since end of October after returning from visiting my immediate family in the UK. I first started in April 2010 and left Feb 2011 after the dreaded quake. I feel very fortunate and grateful to be able to join the Admin team again and although it is challenging trying to convince some people to pay it is also very rewarding when you see the payments come through. I thoroughly enjoy the role and enjoy the company of the team very much.

Prior to working here I was employed by Ravensdown Fertiliser for 13 years looking after all 14,000 shareholder accounts.

My outside interests are walking and wine appreciation. I did a course at Hagley on wine appreciation learning about wines from regions etc and I am currently in a walking group and join up with them most Wednesdays.

Angela Barltrop

Production Assistant

Hi I’m Angela.

I’ve have been working for Academy Publishing since I started in December 2009.

I’m a Production Co-Ordinator for the Child Safety Homewok/Communication Books and Wallplanners for Australia as well as doing some administration.

Outside of work I love spending time with family and catching up with friends over coffee, or just reading a good book.
