Black Estate Pinot Noir 2006

Black-Estate-Pinot-Noir-2006.jpgBlack Estate is a 16 hectare property with half of it in vines. Planted in 1994, Black Estate rests on a gentle slope of Omihi, Waipara, with a northerly aspect and an elevation of 80 to 100m above sea level. Split evenly between four hectares of Mendoza Chardonnay and four hectares of Pinot Noir, the vines’ ungrafted roots penetrate deep in to the calcareous clay soils for the maximum benefit.

Perfumed and inviting, the 2006 Black Estate Pinot Noir displays all the characters that excite about the dense soils in Omihi Waipara. Beautifully presented fruit, silky and mouth-filling palate weight, and long lingering flavour length. This is the perfect Pinot Noir to share with a loved one, lying on a fur rug by the fire this winter. It is available in selected wine stores and restaurants around Canterbury and/or via Black Estate’s website.
